How to Keep Your Home Clean While Living With Pets

People love their pets and rely on them for companionship. Living with a pet is not always easy. Pets do tend to make a mess. Dogs come in from outside and track dirt in on the floor. If it is wet outside they tend to bring mud as well. Hair gets everywhere and no matter how much a person sweeps it just does not seem to go away. There are some tips to keeping a clean home while living with pets.

Managing Hair

Dogs tend to have a certain spot where they like to lay. It can be on the floor or in some cases even on the furniture. To minimize the amount of dog hair that gets in the house put an old towel or an old sheet for large dogs where they like to rest. Once a day take the towel outside and shake it out. This will help remove most of the hair. The towel or the sheet can then be washed in the washer machine. This will help get rid of excess hair. This trick can also work for cat hair as well.

Hire a Professional

Before a big holiday event or special occasion hire a professional carpet cleaner to come in and clean the carpet. They have the tools, the cleaning products, and the knowledge on how to get deep down dirt and hair out of the carpet. Not only will they be able to remove the dirt, they will leave the home smelling clean and fresh

Muddy Paws

When a dog or cat goes outside they tend to get dirty. The animal is thinking about playing and is not too worried about the dirt and the mud that gets stuck on their paws. The owner notices this when they enter the home and see dirty paw prints on their floor. To reduce the amount of dirt that a pet brings inside keep an older towel and a contain filled one third of the way with lukewarm water near the door the pet uses. When the pet comes back inside drop their paws in the water and then dry them off. Not only will this keep mud off of the floor it will keep ice melt and cinder out of the home and off the paws in the winter.

Pet Stain Removal

The sooner that the pet stain is discovered the better the chance there is of it being removed. If there is any residue left of the carpet or furniture be sure to use a dull knife to remove it. Then blot the stain with a clean cloth. Mix ΒΌ teaspoon of clear dishwashing liquid with one cup of warm water. Put this on the stain and then blot it dry. This should be done until the stain no longer is visible.

These are just some of the ways to clean up after pets. Now a person can keep their pet and keep a clean home at the same time .

Carpet Cleaning Means Clean Air

Carpeting is aesthetically associated with luxury, success, and quiet dignity for homes and offices. Carpets also help to reduce noise levels, be a great cushion underneath our feet and for our backs, as well as to provide thermal insulation during colder temperatures. As beautiful as carpets are, their fibers are natural fibers that trap and hold onto everyday contaminants. However, carpet cleaning will improve the appearance of flooring, improve the family’s and office workers health, as well as to extend the life of the carpet. The American Lung Association reports that if anyone suffers from conditions that affects their breathing, like asthma or snoring, look to your carpeting and make sure that you vacuum it at least three times a week. Beyond vacuuming, professionally clean your carpets at least once a year.

Carpet cleaning is so important that the U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) deems a dirty carpet responsible for much of the indoor air pollutants, which includes pet dander, microscopic pollution, dirt, dust, stains, and insect feces. These contaminants can release toxic airborne gases that get trapped within carpet fibers, by walking across the carpet, lying on the carpet and light vacuuming. Professional carpet cleaning can kill these embedded pollutants through special shampooing and high powered vacuums. Just as advertised for old mattresses, carpets also carry dust mites. The CDC (Center for Disease Control) addresses this issue, calling dust mites in many homes, an infestation. Now, dust mites themselves are not the total culprits, it’s their feces and body parts that are the pollutants. Steam cleaning works best to rid your carpets from dust mites, through specialized high temperature equipment and solutions that kill the mites and everything about them.

If you live in a location that has continued high humidity, cleaning carpeting is vital. Dirty carpets in high humidity causes mold to grow, as well as when it rains and you track moisture into the house onto the carpet. Cleaning your carpet regularly in this type of environment can prevent mold and mildew growth within carpet fibers. Professional carpet cleaning tools can eliminate the moisture and keep everyone’s lung or breathing environment healthy. Remember that the same embedded particles from stains, dirt, and dust that can cause allergies, can also lead to the deterioriation of carpet fibers. Soon, these particles cause your carpet to begin looking worn and dull. In today’s society, people are looking for environmentally safe products. Modern technology has entered the carpet cleaning industry with eco-friendly conditioners, stain removers, and protective coatings.

These environmentally safe tools and cleaning equipment does not leave any chemical residue, plus new methods eliminate drying time on all types of carpets, from natural fibers to synthetic fibers. The earliest carpet that has been preserved is the “Pazyryk carpet.” It is a restored piece from around the 4th or 5th century BC. Carpets are made from various fibers and materials, therefore, if you don’t want your carpeting to look like it came from the BC era, arrange to have it professionally cleaned and to restore it back to its original charm. After-all, carpet cleaning is far more effective and budget wise than replacing the carpets themselves. The benefits of getting your carpet professionally cleaned means that as a DIY project, you are stress free and it involves saving lots of time and energy. Professional carpet cleaners have the training, the experience, and the expertise to leave carpets like new. Carpet cleaning professionals have different ways of improving the conditions of carpets, thus making your home or office cleaner and healthier.
