People love their pets and rely on them for companionship. Living with a pet is not always easy. Pets do tend to make a mess. Dogs come in from outside and track dirt in on the floor. If it is wet outside they tend to bring mud as well. Hair gets everywhere and no matter how much a person sweeps it just does not seem to go away. There are some tips to keeping a clean home while living with pets.
Dogs tend to have a certain spot where they like to lay. It can be on the floor or in some cases even on the furniture. To minimize the amount of dog hair that gets in the house put an old towel or an old sheet for large dogs where they like to rest. Once a day take the towel outside and shake it out. This will help remove most of the hair. The towel or the sheet can then be washed in the washer machine. This will help get rid of excess hair. This trick can also work for cat hair as well.
Hire a Professional
Before a big holiday event or special occasion hire a professional carpet cleaner to come in and clean the carpet. They have the tools, the cleaning products, and the knowledge on how to get deep down dirt and hair out of the carpet. Not only will they be able to remove the dirt, they will leave the home smelling clean and fresh
When a dog or cat goes outside they tend to get dirty. The animal is thinking about playing and is not too worried about the dirt and the mud that gets stuck on their paws. The owner notices this when they enter the home and see dirty paw prints on their floor. To reduce the amount of dirt that a pet brings inside keep an older towel and a contain filled one third of the way with lukewarm water near the door the pet uses. When the pet comes back inside drop their paws in the water and then dry them off. Not only will this keep mud off of the floor it will keep ice melt and cinder out of the home and off the paws in the winter.
The sooner that the pet stain is discovered the better the chance there is of it being removed. If there is any residue left of the carpet or furniture be sure to use a dull knife to remove it. Then blot the stain with a clean cloth. Mix ¼ teaspoon of clear dishwashing liquid with one cup of warm water. Put this on the stain and then blot it dry. This should be done until the stain no longer is visible.
These are just some of the ways to clean up after pets. Now a person can keep their pet and keep a clean home at the same time .
