Midnight Mass

Critics Consensus

An ambitious meditation on grief and faith that is as gorgeous as it is unsettling, Midnight Mass's slow boil is a triumph of terror that will leave viewers shaking - and thinking - long after the credits roll.

This show was really good and it took a turn but in a way that, for me, was not expected. I love how they used to the bible to back up something sooo drastic and it actually made sense. That was scary, but very eye opening.

After the meticulously incredible Hill House and Bly Manor being not so, it was nice to see a whole new vibe from Flanagan. The "mystery" seems to unravel rather quickly, but it keeps you enthralled until the end where some creative choices didn't exactly stick the landing in the last act, but for seven episodes and a new story structure I'd say Flanagan once again makes his mark on the horror/thriller genre. The aesthetics and performances carry the show though, specifically the stand-out charismatic Hamish Linklater.

Was pleasantly surprised. Had some real creepy parts in it. And some really good characters. Had a really good twist.

If you're a Horror fan, and a skeptic of organized religion (especially if you were forced to go to a Christian mass every weekend for years like I was), you'll probably enjoy "Midnight Mass." It's some of the best horror I've ever seen, at an HBO production level. If you have a weak stomach for blood or sacrilege you should definitely stay away; but if not, you're in for a real treat!

this was a good concept which fell flat. It was a massive snorefest with forgettable half hour long chunks of dialogue which could have been summarised into 2 minutes. The whole show could have been done as a 90 minute movie. This show was bland, boring, forgettable, and I have nothing but regret for having wasted my time seeing such a dull tv show through to the end.

Great and thrilling TV Show. Within a well achieved atmosphere this is more about human nature than supernatural occurrences.

Boring, hokey, and did not finish.

Midnight mass, te hace volver a creer en las historias de terror te tienen al filo del asiento. Su argumento que mezcla a los monstruos típicos con el fanatismo religioso, la hace una serie imperdible del género de horror. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👹🧛‍♀️

Cringe. Monologues were way too long. Way too much unrelatable religious banter with very minimal horror or tension. Super boring and difficult to power through. Main female lead was cringe. Maybe she got the role because her husband is the director. The Haunting of HH and Bly Manor were light years more engaging and scary. God Bless.

A master fully executed story. I don't think Manny directors and writers can pull off this kind of excellent storytelling. Just a wonderful show
